Thanks to all the dedicated voters out there, the votes are coming in very consistently, just over 500 per day. This has us sitting somewhat comfortably in third place in our category...BUT...the animal shelter group from Labrador keeps chasing, like a mad dog chasing its tail. So please remember to vote everyday, we can't afford to waste any votes.
Here's how I see it, when you do the simple math:
1st place - Second Chance Pet Network, Dryden ON 3525 votes to date 705 registered voters.
2nd place - Rescue Horses, Sussex, NB 3250 votes to date 650 registered voters
3rd place - Seats @ Meets, Brockville, ON 2620 votes to date 524 registered voters
4th place - Labrador SPCA, Goose Bay, NL 2510 votes to date 502 registered voters
5th place - TumbleBus Gymnastics, Coquitlam, BC 2356 votes to date 471 registered voters
With only 22 more voters than the Labrador group, you can see why we cannot afford to waste votes. You know they are looking for new voters everyday so they can take over 3rd place.
And being 181 voters behind the Dryden group, we have some work to do to find more supporters for the Seats @ Meets cause.
We need to be in the top 10 to make it to the Final Round, and if we keep going as we are we should have no trouble reaching that goal. But here's the important thing to remember...the voting starts all over again for the Final Round in December, and this time we will need to make a real statement that the community is in major support of this idea and be at the very top of the list.
Now is the time for the early adopters to gently nudge those friends and family members that may have said they would register to vote but haven't yet. Offer to help them register their email addresses. Some people just lack the confidence to register, even though they really do want to be supportive. Some people just lack the time. This is where all you true blue (or should I say purple) supporters can get Seats at Meets to the next level. I have offered to vote my mom's email address for her because she lacks the time to vote. And for a friend that lacks confidence, but really wants to help, I vote her email address as well.
You'd be surprised how eager people are to be supportive...with a little help from their friends!
